I recorded 7 ride and crash cymbal samples with the TASCAM DR-05 Linear PCM Recorder by placing it beneath the cymbals in a hope to capture the low frequencies. I boosted the lows and reduced the highs in EQ, copied every stem track and put it in reverse, put reverb on the master, then used 2 MIDI software instruments to enhance the eerie atmospheric scifi sound I was going for by inputting something in F# half-whole diminished, as a prominent resonant frequency of my cymbals was F#.
